Why is it that every Mastodon app on Android has delayed notifications except the default one (and the ones based off of it)?

Tusky and Fedilab both have delayed notifications despite having battery optimization turned off.

@jcrabapple I personally don't have this issue when using @trunksapp but I do with most every other Mastodon app, including the Mastodon app itself. All of those based on Tusky, such as Megalodon, Moshidon and others all experience the delay, for me.

@CliffWade I don't have any issues with notifications with the Mastodon app or Megalodon or Moshidon (though they both have an annoying timeline loading issue), but they're both based on the Mastodon app not Tusky.

Tusky and Yuito which is based on Tusky, both have delayed notifications.

Also Fedilab, using either Google notifications or ntfy.

@jcrabapple Really weird how that's all working. For me, anything based on Tusky or Tusky itself, or anything based on the Mastodon app itself seem delayed for me majority of the time. Not always, but most of the time. Trunks just always seems to be without delay.

@CliffWade
Yeah I have used Fedilab for a while and it just stopped giving live notifications. I have Trunks installed basically for notifications. I did have the f-droid version installed so I am trying the Google play version again to test

@jcrabapple
Pretty sure the @apps explained why notifications stopped working but it was a while ago. Anyway to get this fixed @apps?
