We will explain quickly how to follow Twitter/X accounts with .

- Open the main menu > Manage timelines
- Tap on the + button at the top right
- In the pop-up, enter usernames (space or comma between them)
- Once the timeline is pinned at the top, you can long press the tab to change the name or add/remove followed accounts.

Earlier you mentioned a Nitter instance hosted by you. How do we go about using that?

Also, a missing step is to enable Nitter n
in the Privacy settings (Didn't work for me prior).

@noodlez1232
Our instance does not work via the web though it is hosted at nitter.fedilab.app
For following accounts you don't need extra steps, but it is available only in the last beta release.

@apps
Guess it's time to move back to Tusky.

@wortezimmer
Good choice. But if it is only about this feature, it was built as a helper for migrating.

@apps Does this add an actual "follower" to the Twitter account? or rack up page views for Twitter?

There are some accounts there I'd really like to see, but I want to limit how much I do anything that looks like "support" for the site

@HollyGoDarkly
No, this is more like "spying an account". You will have no interactions and the app will never communicate with Twitter/X servers.
Our Nitter service will communicate with Twitter servers and you will get messages through it.

@apps
Is the Nitter service considered a "user" from Twitter's perspective?

@HollyGoDarkly

@snork303
Yes, because under the scene, Nitter needs a Twitter account to work. But for the final user using the service, there is no connection with Twitter.
@HollyGoDarkly

@apps
Thanks. So if I and @HollyGoDarkly and any other Fedilab users take advantage of this spy, we are one single user. Thanks for the service. I'll contemplate using it.

@HollyGoDarkly
These are exactly my feelings. I got it working on my Fedilab, but if it makes any sort of indication that I'm a user of Twitter on its bottom line I'll easily live without.

@apps

@apps Thank you for the work you do

@apps
What beta version is required? I've got the latest from fdroid (3.30.0-beta-2) but when I add an account it says "No timelines was found on this instance!"

@apps
I have 3.30.0-beta-1, so I guess should wait for an update?
I see
"No message to display" in the instance that I added.
@FreydNot

@apps

I have beta-2. Any suggestions?

@apps
Love it. Thank you for your hard work!

@turquoisecake14
It's available in beta releases

@apps It works now. Thanks. I hope you will add Nitter bookmarks someday.
